The Gatehouse is one of the most striking features of Saint-Benoît-du-Sault’s medieval heritage. Once the main entrance to the fort, this imposing fortified gate protected access to the town. Visitors can still see the remains of the drawbridge and double portcullis, reminders of the key defensive role it once played in the layout of the fortified village.
